Hi! My name is Anya and I'm an anthropologist and science communicator. For my Ph.D. in Anthropology, I focused on relationships between humans and plants. I am currently the Public Engagement Specialist for the Center for Research in Programmable Plant Systems, as well as a writer and researcher for Habits of a Travelling Archaeologist. I am also a freelance science journalist with experience in writing essays, articles, podcasts, and videos. My writing has appeared in outlets including American Archaeology Magazine, SAPIENS Anthropology Magazine and Atlas Obscura. I write on a variety of topics spanning anthropology, public health, folklore, history, biology, preservation, and ethics. |
